Together, we can make a difference.
Roughly 60 million kids worldwide do not have access to primary education. In Jamaica, approximately 80% of students come from very rural areas and live in extreme poverty, are severely under-resourced and detached from mainstream services like running water, electricity, transportation, and schools.
Jamaica is the second poorest Caribbean country, after Haiti - 30% youth unemployment, school attendance compulsory only through 6th grade and a low weekly minimum wage of roughly $51 USD.
Although education is technically free, the costs of attending school are considerable, especially for low-income households. Parents must pay hundreds of dollars each school year for uniforms, teaching materials and administrative fees.
We are for requesting donations to support our partnership with Orange Bay Kindergarten & Preparatory School in Jamaica. The funds will be allocated for the cost of educational expenses.
The first student sponsored is a 5-year-old girl named Treshana Arthurs. She is the daughter of a single father who works in the hospitality and construction industry for $40 weekly USD. Treshana’s attendance at Orange Bay Kindergarten & Preparatory would be virtually impossible without this sponsorship.
This opportunity will be an eye, heart, and mind-opening experience for all. Please help us make a difference one student at a time.
