We recently learned that our dear friend, Molly Dawson, was diagnosed with a meningioma tumor. Thankfully, these types of brain tumors are not cancerous, but surgery was necessary to prevent potential paralysis.
Last month, our brave warrior underwent surgery at Northwestern Hospital, under the exceptional care of Dr. James Chandler, who successfully removed the tumor on February 18th. From there, Molly moved to Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, where she worked tirelessly to regain her ability to walk, talk, write, and even cook again! Her incredible determination has paid off—Our girl is doing so well that she’s being discharged this Friday, just in time for St. Patrick’s Day(her favorite holiday! ☘️).
Though the surgery was a success, Molly’s road to full recovery will be long and challenging. She will need ongoing support from her loving family and friends. Thankfully, she has an incredible team by her side—her amazing son Grayson, her wonderful and devoted partner Ben, and her loving parents, Marge and Bill Dawson.
However, with this miraculous recovery comes overwhelming medical expenses. While insurance covers a portion, there is still a substantial financial burden. Molly has been a beloved staff member of the Glenbard West High School community, always giving her heart to those around her. Now, it’s our turn to give back.
We invite you to chip in whatever you can to help ease the financial strain and show Molly just how much she is loved and supported. Every bit helps as she continues on this journey toward full recovery.
Please send your prayers, your love, and positive energy to this incredible & beautiful human—one of the strongest, most inspiring people we know.
Thank you, and God bless!
