Help Us Support Baby Mabel on Her Medical Journey
Hello friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
We’re reaching out to share our daughter Mabel’s story and ask for support during the most challenging chapter of our lives.
Our sweet baby girl, Mabel, was born prematurely (along side her twin brother Henry) and started her life in the NICU. Like many preemies, she faced the usual early struggles, But our journey quickly took an unexpected turn.
Mabel was 10 days old when diagnosed with a rare metabolic disorder. Multiple acyl-CoA dehydrogenase deficiency (MADD) .
This is a condition that comes with many unknowns and terrifying possibilities. At 48 days old Mabel underwent a surgery to place a G-tube. This small feeding tube helps her get the nutrition she needs to thrive and grow.
Each time we find ourselves in Denver, Mabel has given us more questions than answers.
And each time it completely shifts our world.
We are a family of six, with older kiddos at home who need us just as much as Mabel does. Trying to be present for everyone, while navigating hospital stays, long-distance travel, and time off work, is not only emotionally exhausting, it’s also financially overwhelming.
Every dollar raised through this GoFundMe will go directly toward:
Travel expenses for Mabel’s care (gas, lodging, food)
Lost wages while staying with Mabel.
Support for childcare and care of our older children and Mabel’s newborn twin brother.
Any uncovered medical expenses related to her rare diagnosis.
Our deepest desire is to be there for Mabel every step of the way, while also holding space for our family at home. We know we can’t do it alone.
If you’re unable to donate. Your prayers, positive thoughts, and shares of this page mean the world to us too.
Thank you for helping lighten the load, and all the love and support. We are endlessly grateful.
