APSU 93 SOLAR PROJECT

St. Augustine’s College, a senior high School is located in Cape Coast, Ghana, West Africa.

This is a stay on campus boarding high school with a population  of 1931 students and faculty number of about 88. The school has produced international, national, academic and athletic personalities over the years. Like many other Schools in Ghana, the school has some recurrent infrastructural challenges which undermine and threaten the true academic performance of current students.

The school has been subjected to prolonged intermittent supply of electricity due to the failure of the national power grid system of load shedding. This has hugely impacted and disrupted evening studies and in some cases prolonged evening studies during examination and test periods. The students deserve to put out their best performance and create a better future for themselves. During last year’s speech and prize giving day, we sampled and asked students what was their greatest needs and challenges on campus, consistent supply of electricity was amongst the top priorities

The old students of the school have come together to raise funds for a solar lighting project to enable these young students perform basic requirements like home work among others during their long stay at the boarding school.

We have currently raised $3000.00 by ourselves and are seeking a target of $20000 which is the cost of the project.

We humbly ask for donations in all sums to help us realize this dream. No amount is too small and there's no maximum number of donations. Any donation will go a long way to help these students.
