My name is Aprylle and I'm a victim to Las Vegas Healthcare. I had what started as minor health concerns that went untreated for over a year because of our broken and biased medical care system. After a year of seeking help from multiple doctors and hospitals in Las Vegas I made a last ditch effort to save my life and sought care out of state at the Mayo Clinic. I spent a month in the hospital and had to have multiple surgeries and therapies to save my life. I've had to return for a second, third, and fouth surgery with a week long stay each but we're not curative. I am now receiving infusion treatments to put my disease in remission and finally recover. Some of my care has been covered through insurance but I still have quite a bit out of pocket: medicine, hospital stay and surgery copays, therapy, medical supplies I'll need for the rest of my life, travel costs, and loss of income while I recover.
