Hey y’all,
I’m a Canadian-based rugby player that has recently been selected to represent the Philippines at the 2026 Southeast Asia Cup in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia this February.
The dream to represent the Philippines in rugby started 10 years ago when I tore my first ACL. During my rehabilitation, I discovered the Philippine Rugby Volcanoes. Completely removed from rugby made me realize how important it was to me and it was then when I decided to pursue high level rugby.
The journey since then has been wild…I had a baby, COVID, and tore my second ACL. Despite all of this, the dream has always been there and now it’s finally happening!
Rugby has given me so much, helped with my mental health and part of my identity. It’s an honour to play for the motherland, my culture and family.
Philippine Rugby is not a big rugby union and it is a pay-to-play scenario; which is why I’m asking for your help.
Mini camp in the Philippines and tournament expenses in Malaysia are estimated to be approximately $3,000 CAD. Your donation no matter how big or small will go towards flights, accommodations and meals. Any funds raised beyond my goal will be donated to Philippine Rugby Football Union (PRFU).
Thank you for reading, your time and donations. Maraming salamat!
With gratitude,
April
