Where do I start? Life can change in a single moment. I found out 1 1/2 years ago when I went to the hospital for a headache only to find out I had cancer the same day my father passed away. Through the biopsies and the testing, I now can’t talk, eat or drink. I can’t swallow. I’m tube fed. After all the chemo and radiation (35 sessions), I found out it had spread to my lungs. I am now terminal. I lost my job and my amazing insurance. They have given me a year or two, as long as I can continue Keytruda infusions every 3 weeks. Moffitt was kind enough to give me a year of charity which ends in December. As anyone who has ever been through this knows, cancer will eat up any money you have saved up. And I wasn’t wealthy at all. I feel blessed to have such a wonderful person in my life to help me through it all. That would be my wife, April. She has sacrificed so much for me. She had to leave her job to care for me. I would not be here if it wasn’t for her. It has all come down to this. We can no longer live on our houseboat and while we are super grateful to my sister Nicole for providing a place to live for the past year and a half, we would like to have our own space. Our truck is running on its last legs. I have tried everything including disability and food stamps, and have been denied everything. I have worked my whole life and now I can’t get any assistance. My medicine is crazy expensive. Tube food is ridiculous. I have no where to turn. So I’m reaching out for help, which is quite honestly the last thing I want to do, but I need financial help. I am grateful to have time to settle affairs and spend time with family and friends, however, knowing your time is up isn’t always great either. I truly appreciate you, my family, my friends, and anyone who feels kindness in their heart and can donate to what is left of my time here on earth to cover medical expenses, meds and funeral arrangements.
