It breaks my heart to write this as no words can fathom the depths of our despair. My beautiful, intelligent, bold, brilliant, amazing sister, April Desiree Rubino Baltazar, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022.
It feels like a dream that I want to wake up from and hear her say “Hi sister, how’re the babies?”. It feels like yesterday she was dancing to Dancing Queen or a Britney Spears song, rollerblading down the street, hanging out with friends all over, or spending time with our family at gatherings. It feels like yesterday she was putting on makeup or doing her hair in the mirror as she was the artiste, or we were spending holidays and birthdays together, or even hearing that beautiful voice of hers echo down the hallways. It feels like yesterday when she became the proudest sister, holding Aiko or Alexis in her arms, and the proudest auntie finding out about Mia and AJ. She was so fierce and so bold through her love, care and compassion for others that she would fight and sacrifice her all for the ones she loved. Especially family.
As I write this today, there really are no words to describe the impact April has made on all of our lives. She was always there, interwoven into our beautiful and intricate story. But I want everyone to know, that through the sorrow and the pain of her absence and our loss of April, she is in a better place where she is singing and dancing her heart out in heaven and making loved ones laugh with that incredible sense of humor she had. She is here with all of us, making us smile or laugh at something we know she would have said or done. The memories and moments of April are what will keep her alive in spirit although her body and soul are at rest and finally at peace.
As we are planning April’s funeral and memorial services, please take into consideration our family’s grieving by sending condolences through texts and/or messages.
We are so thankful and grateful for everyone’s love, care and support through this time as any monetary gift will help to bring April home and lay her down to rest.
