Hi, I'm Charlie Smith, an Alternative Acoustic artist from Hampshire, UK. In April, I will be embarking on my spring tour fundraising for the Music Venue Trust. This will include six different grassroots music venues around England.

Being a musician has never been easy for me. Even though I have achieved some fantastic numbers via streams, let’s be honest, it doesn’t pay out fairly. For many musicians, playing live is the only way to have a sustainable career. Unfortunately, many of these vital spaces are closing their doors & struggling. That’s why the music venue trust work is so important. If we don’t have grassroots music venues, we won’t have musicians. No musicians = No new music. That I think would be a sad future. Luckily, MVT is doing really rather fantastic work. For the price of an equivalent of a pint of beer, you can help towards the future of grassroots music. It is in tough times that we should stand together, supporting each other as best we can. It's a real privilege to be in a position to support this great cause and to be able to host these six events.
