April Sanders Needs Our Help
Donation protected
On Wednesday, May 17th, our dear friend April Sanders was struck in her vehicle head-on in a collision on a slim two-lane country road in Wilsonville, OR.
She was traveling at 25mph around a sharp curve and was hit head-on by a truck on the driver’s side. As it was a curve, she didn’t see it coming and couldn’t avoid the oncoming truck.
Her small car was smashed up to the steering wheel. She’s fortunate to have escaped with her legs, and most importantly, her life.
April sustained injuries and was immediately transported to the ER after the crash. Fortunately, she had no life-threatening injuries, yet has a long road to recovery.
Her left arm was shredded and her collarbone and clavicle are severely damaged by the seatbelt. The impact and subsequent deployment of airbags severely bruised her entire chest and ribcage.
Her left nose, left knee, and feet have lesions. Again, she’s lucky to have her legs.
Our friend will be okay, yet it will take time to heal.
April’s car was totaled, and of course the other guy said she was at fault in his lane. This is untrue and will go to trial after the insurance companies battle it out.
Until the insurance companies determine fault, April is accruing tow yard fees on top of medical bills, loss of work and ultimately attorney fees. She was leasing her vehicle, which is now totaled, and still has to make monthly payments.
April is a single mother, injured, without a car, and unable to get her son to/from school or drive to work.
Anything friends and family can contribute will help during this trying time. It was a traumatic experience. The most important thing is that we still have our friend on Earth and, thankfully, her son wasn’t in the car.
Please consider helping in any way you can.
Thank you
