My name is Gabriel Rodriguez, and I am writing with a heavy heart. On September 14, 2023, my world shattered when I lost my beloved mom, April Marie Nissen, to a sudden heart attack. The pain of losing her is compounded by the fact that less than a year ago, we said goodbye to my aunt, Ivy Nissen, who lost her battle to pancreatic cancer. My grandmother, already burdened with the loss of one daughter, is now shattered by the departure of another.
