April Rizley Jarman's Lung Transplant Relief Fund

Many of you know my husband’s twin sister, April, has needed a lung transplant for many years. She has suffered numerous acute and chronic life-threatening infections (including Covid). The last year has been a roller coaster of a process- enduring an insane number of blood draws, numerous diagnostics tests for months on end, and ultimately being declined by a Transplant center 90 miles from her home. At her lowest, she never gave up hope. As one door closed she summoned the courage to walk through the next. She bravely headed West, 1,100 miles away from her family and all of her support, to repeat the exhaustive testing process in hopes that another Transplant Center would recognize what we all know - APRIL IS A FIGHTER - she will power through any challenge in her path - and is worthy of this precious gift. On January 20, 2023, we got the news we had all prayed for - SHE IS ON THE LIST! As I consider what her next year will bring, knowing she will have to be in Phoenix with full-time assistance for up to a year, on countless medications, therapies, and ongoing monthly trips back to Arizona upon her release - I recognize what an enormous challenge she will be facing not only physically but financially.
