This summer, Taylor Blackwell became increasingly ill. In the fall, doctors discovered a fast-growing grade 4 brain tumor. In October, she underwent a craniotomy to remove the tumor, along with a Chiari Malformation surgery at the same time. After surgery, pathology confirmed the tumor was a medulloblastoma — an extremely rare cancer in adults. Because of this, her medical team has recommended aggressive treatment. Taylor is expected to begin multiple rounds of radiation in December, followed by what may be a full year of chemotherapy.
Since the surgery, Taylor has been unable to drive due to severe nausea, dizziness, and vision issues. She has been staying with her parents, who have been providing constant care. Recently, her two young daughters, ages six and four, also moved into the home so that the family could stay together during this time.
The Blackwells are now preparing to sell their home in Greenville, SC. Andrew has relocated as well, so the family can remain united while Taylor undergoes treatment. Taylor’s parents’ home simply isn’t large enough for four additional people, but they are doing everything they can to make it work. The family is converting an outdoor building on the property into a small living space for Taylor, Andrew, and the girls to have some stability during this long medical journey.
All prayers, shares, and support are deeply appreciated. There is also a specific financial need for a new appliance package that will be used in their future living space. Any help you can provide makes a meaningful difference as this family navigates the road ahead.
