Hi! My name is Ryan Buffa and I am writing, directing and producing my short film, APPLES & ORANGES.
It's a beautiful and violent coming of age story about River, a preteen girl living in a trailer park in rural Texas, who is left alone for the evening and is forced to confront her abuser. Although she is isolated, she gathers strength from the lessons she has learned from her mother and grandmother. APPLES & ORANGES examines the question of which is the greater sin, to break a spirit or to take a life?
I have an amazing team of people - from the best in their craft to those who are getting started in the film industry and want a chance to test their skills. I've been amazed by the kindness of my friends and colleuges and the hard work they are putting into this project.
We are raising $10,000 to rent equipment, reimbersing products used by crew, set dressing, location, production insurance and food to take extra care of our crew (who are working for free)! A portion of our budget will go towards post-production, marketing, and festival submission fees as well.
I've received incredible support from colleagues, friends and family so far to help get things off the ground and making this film a possibility. Now I'm asking for the fiscal support so I may create a safe and enjoyable production for those involved.
