Appeal for Scottish rescues, charities, rehabbers

Hello folks,

My name is Gill Henderson. I am a volunteer in animal rescue and have decided to set this appeal up today because I am saddened to see good friends who run rescues, charities and rehab facilities on their knees and struggling and in some cases, having to close their doors.

This situation has been made so much worse as a result of the decision by SSPCA to try and ask the public to take wildlife ( birds, small mammals etc) directly to Vets as they are cutting back on their services.

Many animals that are being taken to Vets are then being either euthanised, as Vets don't have the capacity to suitably house them , or on occasion, the skills, to provide ongoing care and so they are sending people away to other animal rescues or charities. The result is the smaller charities and rescues are completely overwhelmed.

They have very little in funding as it is and this is going to put unimaginable pressure on them now.

For this reason, I have decided to try and raise some funds to split between some of the charities, rescues and rehabbers that have personally helped me out over the past few years... Not just with wildlife but with dogs, cats and even ponies!

These people have been an invaluable help to me... And I really want to try and help them at this desperate time, even if just a small token to say they are appreciated and respected for the work they do.

I have lost count of the number of birds that I have taken to Louise Flowerdew and Don Dickson our local rehabbers , Chris ( Loving Homes Dog Rescue) has helped my family with a dog under extremely sad circumstances, Stef ( Underheugh Ark Rescue) has helped with Poultry, Ponies, countless dogs from the Police and now even with helping me place one of my elderly clients Cats due to my clients sad ill health, Lovely Lexi ( Maggie Fleming Animal Hospice and The Karass Sanctuary) has taken practically every waif and stray for me that I have ever asked her for help with without any complaints and in almost every case, it's been an emergency situation ... And last but not least, Kerryanne ( All Bullie Charity Rescue) ... who stepped up to offer rescue back up for my own adopted lad in his time of need when he was abandoned with Police.

Each and every one of these people are earth angels and I'd really appreciate it if you could all please make even a tiny contribution so that I can split the funds with them and allow them to carry on the amazing work they do for all the different types of animals they are a lifeline for.

From Pigeons, Gulls, Sheep, Poultry, Hedgehogs, Owls, Dogs, Ponies and Cats... They don't discriminate. They just save lives because ALL their lives matter. ❤️
