Appalachian Delegation to Cuba!

We are asking for your help to support the Appalachian Organizers May-Day Delegation to Cuba. Central Appalachia and Cuba are both places that have suffered from intentional media misrepresentation, capitalist exploitation of working peoples, and suppression of social movements by the forces of US Empire. Borders and travel bans have historically prevented Appalachian people from connecting to and seeking revolutionary inspiration from the Cuban people. By supporting the Appalachian delegation of the International Solidarity Brigade to Cuba, you are supporting the political education of radical Appalachian leaders seeking genuine solutions for the poverty, dispossession of land, and broken healthcare system that plague working people in Appalachia. Meeting with fellow revolutionaries will give us an opportunity to stand in solidarity with the Cuban people, who have been oppressed by U.S. imperialism and trade embargos, while learning strategies and tactics to build people’s movements back home.
For decades, U.S. politicians have strived to distort the truth about Cuba, promoting a narrative that erases the liberatory housing, healthcare, educational and political systems fought for and won by the Cuban working-class . On this trip, we will have the unique chance to meet with Cuban workers, farmers, literacy teachers, and political leaders in person, gaining a fresh first-person perspective on life in a nation that has bravely fought back against the forces of imperialism and capitalism.
Your support will go towards assistance in purchasing passports, plane tickets, food, and other necessary travel items so that we can minimize travel costs for low-income and working class Appalachians. Help us build beautiful friendship and solidarity with the Cuban people so that we can work to build a freer world back home.
