***Updates: Erik underwent surgery on September 19th to remove his tumor. The surgery went well and he began chemotherapy right away. Thankfully, he has responded very well to the chemotherapy. He was discharged from the hospital last week and is at home with his family. At this time, he’s not seeing visitors but is in very good spirits and is appreciating all of the calls and messages! The Velásquez Hernández family needs our support. Erik was admitted to the hospital on Friday after passing out at school. After many medical tests, the family was informed that Erik has leukemia cancer and will need immediate chemotherapy treatment.
