Help Us Bring Miguel Home
Our friend Miguel Briceno is currently being held in ICE detention in South Florida while he waits for his immigration hearing.
Miguel has no criminal record. He was stopped by police while riding his e-bike home from work, and officers discovered a bench warrant connected to an immigration notice that had been sent in 2025 to an address he had not lived at in years. The officer initially intended to let him go with a warning. But once the warrant appeared, Miguel had to be taken into custody.
In a matter of minutes, a normal ride home turned into detention.
Anyone who knows Miguel knows the kind of person he is. He has a deep love for life, for freedom, and for the ideals of democracy. He is the friend who brings energy into every room, who encourages others when they’re struggling, and who somehow manages to make people laugh even on difficult days.
Miguel finds joy in simple things: long runs with friends, meaningful conversations, and his endless enthusiasm for Taylor Swift, nerds candy, and the movie Wicked. His optimism and warmth have made him someone many people consider family.
Right now, Miguel is sitting in detention waiting for his day in court. The only way he can return home while his case moves through the legal system is by posting an immigration bond, which must be paid in full before he can be released.
The bond amount can be as high as $15,000, and we are coming together as a community to raise those funds so Miguel does not have to remain in detention while his case proceeds.
Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to bringing Miguel home.
If you are able to donate, thank you for helping give Miguel the chance to return to the community that cares deeply about him. If donating isn’t possible, sharing this page can make an enormous difference.
Miguel has spent his life showing up for others.
Now it’s our turn to show up for him.
Let’s bring Miguel home.
