Quiero contarte la historia de la persona más fuerte y luminosa que conozco: mi mamá, Yoly.

Mi mamá tiene 57 años y es una mujer valiente, amorosa y siempre llena de vida. Pero desde el año pasado, su salud ha estado enfrentando retos muy duros.

En abril de 2024 tuvo que ser operada de emergencia por un problema en el intestino. Lo que comenzó como un fuerte dolor abdominal terminó en una ileostomía. Estuvo hospitalizada por casi dos semanas, varios días en cuidados intensivos. Fue un momento muy duro para todos… pero mi mamá luchó con todo su corazón para salir adelante. Y lo logró.

Después de ese susto, cada paso que daba era una celebración. Pensamos que lo más difícil había quedado atrás. Pero en septiembre, durante una tomografía de rutina, encontraron un pequeño tumor en su hígado.

Los médicos creen que es un hemangioma, un tumor benigno de sangre. El problema es que ha crecido demasiado rápido: pasó de menos de 1 cm a más de 10.5 cm en muy poco tiempo. Aunque sigue pareciendo benigno, el tamaño y el crecimiento preocupan mucho.

Ahora, mi mamá necesita un procedimiento urgente llamado embolización hepática. Es una intervención que bloquea el flujo de sangre que alimenta el tumor, ayudando a detener su crecimiento y proteger su salud.

El costo del procedimiento es alto: más de $150,000 pesos mexicanos. Como familia estamos haciendo todo lo posible para reunir la mayor parte, pero aún necesitamos ayuda.

Hoy, te pido desde lo más profundo de mi corazón que, si está en tus posibilidades, nos ayudes a acercarnos a esta meta. Cada peso, cada compartida, cada palabra de aliento significa muchísimo para nosotras.

And I want to share the story of the strongest and most radiant woman I know: my mom, Yoly.

My mom is 57 years old—brave, loving, and full of life. But since last year, her health has been through some incredibly difficult challenges.

In April 2024, she had to undergo emergency surgery due to a serious intestinal issue, which resulted in an ileostomy. She was hospitalized for nearly two weeks, spending several days in intensive care. It was one of the hardest moments we’ve lived through… but my mom fought with everything she had. And she made it through.

Each step she took after that was a celebration. We truly believed the worst had passed. But in September, during a routine CT scan, doctors found a small tumor in her liver.

They believe it’s a hemangioma, a benign blood tumor. The issue is that it has grown alarmingly fast—from less than 1 cm to over 10.5 cm in a very short time. Despite several MRIs and contrast CT scans, they’re still unsure why it's grown so aggressively.

Right now, the most viable option is an urgent procedure called a hepatic embolization. It involves blocking the blood flow that’s feeding the tumor in order to stop its growth and relieve her symptoms.

The total cost of the treatment is over $8,500 USD (around $150,000 MXN). As a family, we’re doing all we can to raise the funds—but we still need help.
