Last March, I rescued a dog that was dying of illness and hunger...She was lying on the ground, in the filth...
She arrived dead at the veterinary clinic, and this tragic event marked me forever...
In the 17 years I've been rescuing animals, I've seen it all, but what I experienced that fateful day with Cielito shook me to the very fiber of my soul. Not a day goes by that I don't think about her. I deeply regret having come into her life so late.
Due to the sheer intensity and difficulty of this daily struggle of rescuing animals from the streets, I considered not continuing to rescue on several occasions, but I promised Cielito (on her behalf) that I would continue fighting to help save the lives of so many other animals in the same situation.
