Mi nombre es Maxel y hoy quiero compartir la historia de mi esposo, Denis, un hombre trabajador, noble y luchador incansable que, a pesar de haber enfrentado cada batalla con valentía y fortaleza admirable, hoy necesita de nuestra ayuda.

Hace unos años le diagnosticaron cáncer renal y tuvo que someterse a una cirugía para remover el riñón afectado. Pensamos que, después de ese proceso tan duro, por fin estaba saliendo adelante. Sin embargo, poco tiempo después nos dieron la terrible noticia de que el cáncer había hecho metástasis en los pulmones.

Aun así, mi esposo nunca se rindió. Pasó por 5 quimioterapias, tratamientos de inmunoterapia y 5 radiocirugías para intentar controlar las lesiones. Cada día lucha con fe y con la esperanza de volver a vivir con normalidad.

4 años después de lucha creíamos que estaba remitido, y una semana después nos dieron otro golpe: el cáncer había hecho metástasis cerebral. Ha sido un camino lleno de incertidumbre, miedo y mucho dolor, pero él siempre se ha mantenido fuerte.

Como consecuencia de las quimioterapias, desarrolló una pancreatitis severa que dejó el 50% de su páncreas necrosado. Hubo que colocarle un drenaje y hospitalizarlo nuevamente. A pesar de esas complicaciones, sigue luchando.

Hoy está otra vez en el hospital debido a las secuelas de las radiocirugías. Tiene un edema cerebral que están tratando con esteroides, y los médicos deben esperar a que la inflamación baje para determinar qué tratamiento podrá recibir. Mientras tanto, mi esposo está débil, bajo cuidados constantes y, por supuesto, no puede trabajar.

Mi familia ha hecho todo lo humanamente posible, pero los gastos médicos, estudios, tratamientos, traslados y medicamentos han superado por completo nuestras posibilidades. Por eso hemos decidido abrir este GoFundMe:

My name is Maxel and today I want to share the story of my husband, Denis, a hardworking, noble and tireless fighter who, despite having faced each battle with bravery and admirable strength, today needs our help.

A few years ago he was diagnosed with kidney cancer and had to undergo surgery to remove the affected kidney. We thought that, after that hard process, I was finally getting ahead. However, a short time later they gave us the terrible news that the cancer had metastasized into the lungs.

Even so, my husband never gave up. He went through 5 chemotherapy, immunotherapy treatments and 5 radio surgeries to try to control the injuries. Every day he fights with faith and with the hope of returning to normal life.

4 years after the fight we thought it was remitted, and a week later they gave us another blow: the cancer had metastasized to the brain. It has been a path full of uncertainty, fear and a lot of pain, but he has always remained strong.

As a result of chemotherapy, he developed severe pancreatitis that left 50% of his pancreas necrotized. He had to be placed with a drain and hospitalized again. Despite these complications, he continues to fight.

Today he is back in the hospital due to the aftermath of the radio surgeries. He has a brain edema that is being treated with steroids, and doctors must wait for the inflammation to subside to determine what treatment they can receive. Meanwhile, my husband is weak, under constant care and, of course, cannot work.
