Ayúdanos a Honrar la Vida de Victor Salgado Ibarra

Con el corazón destrozado compartimos la triste noticia del fallecimiento de nuestro querido hermano, Victor Salgado Ibarra, quien trágicamente perdió la vida el 10 de octubre de 2025, después de ser atropellado por un camión de carga en el lado sur de Chicago. Tenía solo 49 años.

Aquel día tan doloroso, Victor fue impactado por un semi, el conductor abandonó el vehículo y huyó a pie. La policía aún continúa buscándolo. Victor fue trasladado de urgencia al Hospital Cook County Stroger, donde luchó con todas sus fuerzas por sobrevivir. Se sometió a múltiples cirugías, sufrió fracturas de costillas, hemorragias cerebrales, inflamación severa en el cerebro y daño intestinal. Tuvo tres tubos en el pecho, fue conectado a un ventilador mecánico y permaneció en coma. A pesar de los grandes esfuerzos de los médicos, el corazón de Victor se detuvo tres veces el 8 de octubre, y aunque fue revivido en cada ocasión, su cuerpo ya no pudo resistir más. El 10 de octubre, partió de este mundo rodeado de amor.

Victor será recordado como un hombre bondadoso, trabajador y humilde, alguien que siempre recibía a los demás con una sonrisa y trataba a todos con compasión. Era amable, empático y lleno de vida, siempre dispuesto a ayudar tanto a amigos como a desconocidos. Sus manos mostraban el esfuerzo de muchos años de trabajo, pero su espíritu siempre se mantuvo noble. Tenía un corazón lleno de calidez y una risa capaz de alegrar cualquier día.

Victor deja atrás a su amada madre en México y a dos hermanas que viven en Chicago, quienes enfrentan no solo un dolor inmenso, sino también la carga económica de sus gastos funerarios. Queremos darle a Victor la despedida digna que merece — honrar su memoria y celebrar el alma tan hermosa que fue.

Help Honor the Life of Victor Salgado Ibarra

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved brother, Victor Salgado Ibarra, who tragically lost his life on October 10th, 2025, after being struck by a semi-truck on the south side of Chicago. He was only 49 years old.

On that heartbreaking day, Victor was hit by a semi whose driver abandoned the truck and fled on foot. The police are still searching for him. Victor was rushed to Cook County Stroger Hospital, where he fought bravely for his life. He endured multiple surgeries, suffered broken ribs, brain bleeds, severe brain swelling, and intestinal damage. He had three chest tubes, was placed on a ventilator, and remained in a coma. Despite the doctors’ best efforts, Victor’s heart stopped three times on October 8th, and although he was revived each time, his body could no longer endure the trauma. On October 10th, he passed away surrounded by love.

Victor is remembered as a kind, hardworking, and humble man — someone who greeted everyone with a smile and treated others with compassion. He was friendly, empathetic, and full of life, always willing to help a friend or stranger in need. His hands showed the marks of years of hard work, yet his spirit remained gentle. He had a heart that carried warmth wherever he went, and a laugh that could brighten anyone’s day.

Victor leaves behind his loving mother in Mexico and two devoted sisters in Chicago, who are now faced not only with immense grief but also with the financial burden of his funeral and burial expenses. We want to give Victor the dignified farewell he deserves — to honor his memory and celebrate the beautiful soul he was.
