Help me make my MA final film inspired by my Grandad
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Andrew Creak, and I am a working class, neurodivergent, queer director based in South Wales.
I am raising funds to produce my most ambitious short film to date, 'A Postcard from Bill', which is a semi-biographical musical short film set during the Second World War.
The film tells the story of my Great Grandmother, Gladys, and how the war affected her, and her son, my Gramp, Gordon. There are so many films set in the war, but hardly any ever touch on what it was like for the women "left behind", and this film shows what it was like for my Great Grandmother.

I have grown up with my Gramp telling me stories about his life in the war, and now I finally have the opportunity to create a film that honours the stories he has told me, and also honours him.
With the film being set in the 1940s, the cost to produce this film is higher than if I were to set a film in the present day as a result of costumes, locations, props etc, all of which need to be spot on to really sell that the film is set in the 40s.
The money raised will be used to finance the film as a whole, from locations, costumes, props, lunches, etc, every penny will go a long way in getting this film made.
Any help you can give into helping us tell this story means the world to me, and my team.
Thank you.
