Six months ago our family adopted Apollo, a then 1-year-old with a heart condition.  First I want to thank all of you who donated to Apollo's first campaign.  We were able to get a complete diagnosis and prognosis with those funds.
Apollo now needs surgery on his heart.  He has two conditions: a PDA, which, if not corrected could lead to sudden death. It can only be corrected while the abnormal flow of blood is from the left to right side of the heart.  When it shifts, and if untreated it will, .  the surgery would be ineffective and the resulting shift from right to left could lead to intraventricular hemorrhage or stroke.  He needs the surgery before the shift i.e. ASAP.  He is currently scheduled for surgery later this month at UC Davis.  The second condition is aortic stenosis which is treatable over the long term IF THE PDA is corrected.
This campaign is to raise money for Apollo's PDA surgery this month.  It would go a long way toward defraying the cost and would be greatly appreciated by all of us, especially Apollo.  He has become such an integral part of our family and we feel that he deserves a full and happy life.  After our  unexpected loss of our 2 dogs this last summer. Apollo came into our broken hearts to help us heal. Now its our turn to return the favor.
