UPDATE: Unfortunately we’ve come to the incredibly difficult decision after further discussion with our vet, that the trauma as well as the recovery of the surgeries Apollo would need, are just too much for his old body to handle, and would leave him with little to no quality of life for a good deal of time after the surgery.
Apollos entire life has been filled with amazing hikes, walks and swims nearly every day of his 14 years.
A surgery that would leave him unable to walk, and do the things he loves is just not fair to him.
He has given us so much love for so long, and it’s time for us to return that love, in a very hard way.
Today we will be bringing Apollo home to spend his last few days with the people who love him.
We are all utterly heart broken, but we know this what is right for our sweet boy.
Thank you so much to everyone that donated, everyone’s generosity has been so touching and is endlessly appreciated.
All funds raised will go towards the current vet bill and the goal has been adjusted to reflect.
My best friend of the past decade is in need of urgent surgery to repair a pelvic fracture.
I can’t put into words how much this amazing dog means to myself as well as my family.
Anyone who has ever met him can surely understand how special he is.
He is an old boy.
But he absolutely still has life left to live.
Financially this surgery is not an easy thing to take on, but we are willing to do anything for Apollo, to help repay the joy and love he’s given us.
Donations of any amount hugely appreciated.
