Gus's Recovery Fund

Donation protected
Hi everyone. I'm Charles and I have a cat named Gus who is the light of my life, my world, my good baby boy, and he's really been going through it lately.

Just before the weekend, on March 1st, I noticed that he was meowing and meowing at me and the typical responses (Treats, play, etc.) weren't working. Then I noticed that he was going to the litterbox a lot and wasn't producing any results, and his meows started getting more and more distressed. I drove him to the animal hospital where they confirmed he had a urinary blockage.

This can happen with adult neutered cats, and is a treatable thing, but it is expensive. At the same time I had to pay rent, I had to pay $3,500 for his stay at the hospital while they helped him drain and monitored him and gave him medication. He has urinary infection and he's home now after a few days, and I'm administering his antibiotics, anti-inflammatory, and just watching him. When he got home yesterday he started bumping his head into every item of furniture he saw, as if to tell me he was really glad to be home.

I'm not going to lie: I'm bad at asking for help, and this is a last resort, but this has put me very deeply in a bind, and I'm worried that there are going to be followups to come that will cost more and more. It's going to be tough to catch up, which is why any help I could possibly get would be so profoundly appreciated. I'd do anything for Gus, and if this is another way I can help him, I'm going to try.

He's a good, special, unique boy. He furrows his eyes when he's about to strike. He rests his body on my neck like an airplane pillow when I'm working. He'll sit and lay in my lap for hours if I'd let him. He is my shadow, my loyal boy, always in the room with me, and just so very sweet and friendly. Even when I picked him up from the animal hospital, they told me, "That is one friendly cat." Gus leaves a good, positive impression on everyone he meets and he deserves all the help and mercy and support he can get.

Funds will go completely to Gus's ongoing care. While I have set the cost of this to what was already paid with his hospital bill, any funds will go to the future bills I know he will start getting, with his new prescription diet and his subsequent appointments, and if he has another blockage, which is unfortunately something that could happen.

Supporting this means supporting my very best friend, and it would mean the world to me. Thank you so much.
