About a year ago Lorenzo Ferrero and I ,Anibal Seminario, decided to start our own big band project. From the very first moment, we both knew that this big band was going to be our chance to incorporate our peruvian roots to the LA music scene.
We started writting the music and rehearsing a big band, which happens to be comprised by our amazing friends from our college days.
After a couple of months rehearsing, we decided it was time to record some of the material we had been working on.
Once the recording process was complete, we had the crazy idea to submit our recordings to the Jazz Education Network Conference (JEN) "blind auditions procces".
Even though we were confident in our recordings, we also understood the amount of incredible talent and quantity of submitions the JEN conference recevies for their conference, which is only once a year. This is an extremely hard conference to be invited to perform.
A month after submitting the recordings we received an email from the Jazz Education Network, which informed us that our big band was selected to perform at the JEN conference, our goal was accomplished, yay!!
But there’s a problem
Upon accepting the invitation is when our initial dilema began.
We are an LA based big band, and the JEN conference is taking place in Dallas, Texas.
We are asking for your support/help to get us from LA to Dallas so we can make this dream of ours come true, and perform at the JEN conference.
You can join us
By helping us reach our goal of $4000, you are supporting us with our basic travel and hotel expenses, as we have a group total of 17 people.
We thank you in advance for your interest and willingness to help us achieve our goals! Any help is greatly appreciated!
