Dylan (Apex) is one of our good friends who is currently in difficulty after a theft travelling from Rotterdam to Amsterdam - He was reluctant to set this up as it felt uncomfortable for him so myself and Findlay thought we would do it on his behalf to not only help raise money for equipment but to raise awareness.

Apex is a freelance photographer and videographer based in Scotland, specialising in nightlife and rave culture for over two years. During a recent trip to the Netherlands with a DJ performing at Rotterdam Rave, Apex’s equipment bag was stolen on a train. The bag contained everything essential to his business, including all his camera gear, equipment and laptop.

The theft resulted in the loss of approximately £8,600 worth of camera and production equipment. This included five lenses, one full-frame Sony camera, two Osmo cameras, and two video microphones. In addition to these major items, multiple batteries, chargers, and several SSDs were also taken, further increasing the overall loss.

This incident has effectively wiped Apex’s business setup entirely — a complete reset of his livelihood. Like many people, Apex was extremely reluctant to set up a GoFundMe. However, after discussing the situation with close friends, he agreed to let them organise one with his guidance.

The aim of this GoFundMe is not to fully replace everything that was lost, as we understand that this is a significant ask, especially with Christmas approaching and many people facing their own challenges. Instead, we hope that those within the scene will remember the value Apex has brought to events and help support him in rebuilding and getting back on his feet.
