On March 9, 2026, my son and I experienced an apartment fire that destroyed almost everything we own. Our home was one of several in our complex affected by the disaster, and we lost all of our furniture, clothing, my son’s toys, and even our washer and dryer. It’s been overwhelming to see our lives turned upside down so quickly, and we’re still coming to terms with everything that’s happened.
Right now, we’re staying in a hotel while our landlord prepares a new apartment for us. The hotel doesn’t have a kitchen, so we’ve been eating at restaurants and trying to make do with just a mini fridge. The funds from this fundraiser will help us replace the essentials—beds, a couch, clothes, and all the little things that make a place feel like home. More than anything, I want to help my son feel safe and comfortable again.
A lot of people have already reached out to offer help, and I am so grateful for that kindness. I’m not someone who asks for help easily, but this is one of those times when we truly need it. Thank you for reading our story and for any support you can give, whether it’s a donation or simply sharing our fundraiser. Your generosity means the world to us.
