Hello everyone, my name is TJ Smith. I am a first-year medical school student at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.

I write this message to you with a humble heart. Unfortunately, I recently suffered a horrible apartment fire. While I thank God for my life and the opportunity to still be here to share this story, I have lost my apartment and a lot of personal property with it. This ordeal has taken a large mental and emotional toll on my family and I. One of the reasons why, but not limited to, is because I did not have renter’s insurance. I am now faced with the responsibility of paying for all that was lost and damaged in the fire, from household appliances to furniture. As I try to remain in good academic standing at school while dealing with this situation, I ask that you may find it in your heart to help ease the financial burden. No amount is too little and would be beyond appreciated. Thank you!
