Apartment Building Fire...help needed!!

Hi this just happened to my daughter's sister... I'm hoping to make it a little easier to find a new place and buy some necessities. She has lost everything. The faster we can help, the easier it will be to remain with her employment etc.

 

She lives in the Chicago area away from her family. She is in her young 20's trying to make her way in a new city. That is a struggle as is.

Hi everyone. I’d like to start with “I’m safe!!”. My apartment as some of you know is above a restaurant. Unfortunately, a fire started downstairs and by the grace of God I woke up to the faintest alarm sound and a slight smell of smoke. Within 3 literal minutes of waking up and waking my brother, calling 911 and trying to see if my neighbor was in his apartment, the fire started ravaging down the hall towards my place. I grabbed a handful of things I deemed important, my cat and ran towards my front door where the fire department was crawling on the ground, yelling at us to evacuate! Seriously something out of a movie and terrifying. We genuinely escaped in just the nick of time. With that being said, I’m having to literally start my life over since everything I had is gone. I’m not one to ask for help but if there’s anything as little as socks that I can ask for, I will! Thank you for taking the time to read this and help if you can. -Bri
