We are currently working at the St. Luke's Catholic Hospital (formerly Apam Catholic Hospital) as National Medical Fellows in Apam, Ghana from March 21- May 7, 2015. This hospital serves a population of 204,000 from 197 communities within a radius of 1,033 square kilometres.
After being here for a week, we have witnessed that there is an extreme lack of resources. We have decided to raise some funds from Monday March 30 - Sunday April 12 to assist with some minor improvement projects. For example: The most common disease treated in this hospital is malaria, yet many of the beds do not have treated mosquito nets. Therefore we will purchase nets for the hospital beds.
We will use all of the funds from April 13- May 1 while we are still working here to ensure the integrity of your donations and provide you with pictures as proof.
We have each donated $100 of our own money to get our page started at $400, and we hope that you will join us ! A donation of any amount will help.
Thank you,
Jay-Sheree, Vy, Ebony, Fernando
