Apache Sign Rescue

Hi! My name is Joanne Thompson. I started the renovation on historic and nostalgic Apache motel back in March 2020.

My progress came to a full stop in November 2020 and ownership of the motel was tied up in court for the next three years just last month ,in February, my company ,Notable homes llc became the sole owner. I planned and packed my car with tools and drove 1700 miles .

I had just gotten into town and came over to the hotel, and noticed that the sign was not perpendicular to the road . Upon my inspection, the base had rusted and in the recent high winds had twisted its steel foundation and was about to come down . I contacted other historic owners and they gave me the name of the signed company in Amarillo, who will be sending out a crane this morning to take this sign down and Give me estimates for it renovation to become the pride of Route 66 again!

I’m not only in love this motel but the sign, the town of Tucumcari and the whole living organism which is the American Route 66.

Anyone and everyone who is driven this Historic Road knows this iconic sign.

I’m sure i have underestimated the cost . Please give what you can. If you have ever taken a picture of this , could you send a dollar? This will all add up. Be part of the great American Road and help me help this sign and motel for decades to come!
