Is mise Orla Nugent. It is a great privilege for me to stand for the people of Galway West as an Aontú candidate. Aontú offer a principled, common sense alternative in Irish politics. Those of us lucky enough to call Gaillimh Thiar home can see the challenges that need to be faced. We can also see the failure of government to address these issues in a meaningful way. Your donations will help to pay for my leaflets & posters and give me a real chance to make some political waves anseo i nGaillimh.
Mar is eol dúinn, níl dóthain tithe ar fáil. The delivery of basic health services is just not good enough. Tá costaisí ag méadú seachtain i ndiadh seachtaine. The human cost of government mismanagement is huge.
We can, and we must do better.
Sin an fáth go bhfuil mé san iomaíocht in the forthcoming By Election i nGaillimh Thiar.
In Dáil Éireann I will work hard for you, the people . I will call out government waste and mismanagement. I will call for accountability in public spending & value for money. I will fight for the services that we need here in Galway West. I will fight for each and every one of you, for your right to a life lived with dignity, in a caring, modern democracy.
Aontú candidates do not have access to major funding. That makes grassroots support & fundraising essential.
All money raised will be used solely for the election campaign, including costs such as:
Leaflets
Posters
Advertising
Printing and distribution costs
Every contribution, no matter how small, helps ensure that voters across Galway West hear our message and know they have a real choice on polling day.
Important Legal Information About Political Donations
Irish law places strict limits on political donations. By donating, you confirm that:
You are an Irish resident or an Irish citizen living on the island of Ireland, and
You have not exceeded the maximum permissible political donation to a candidate in the current calendar year.
In addition:
I cannot accept more than €1,000 from the same individual in the same calendar year.
I cannot accept an anonymous donation of more than €100. While GoFundMe records donor names, I may need to contact you for your address for compliance purposes if your donation exceeds €100.
Donations over €600 may be required to be declared to the Standards in Public Office Commission (SIPO).
Donations from individuals who are not Irish citizens or residents on the island of Ireland may not be accepted.
These rules exist to ensure transparency and fairness in Irish elections, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
Go raibh míle Maith agat for supporting the campaign and for helping to build a campaign powered by ordinary people in Galway West.
Bí páirteach. Together we are stronger.
