AOET Uganda (https://www.aoet.org/) is a non-profit organization that originally was founded as the AIDS Orphan Education Trust. It has since evolved into Action for Empowerment which focuses on the health, education, and overall well-being of orphans and vulnerable children in Uganda.
We (Karly, Maddie, Madi, Alexa & Morgan) will be traveling to Uganda in May/June to volunteer with the AOET Uganda organization. We will be working at mobile medical clinics and schools to contribute as much as we can. Before traveling, we would like to raise money to make as much of a difference there as possible. AOET donations go to the construction of school classrooms, school supplies, and medical supplies for clinics. Our initial goal is to raise money specifically for:
- a microscope (to help with malaria management)
- vitals monitor (to help manage sick patients at the clinic, specifically during deliveries or when patients are critically ill)
- menstrual cups (many young girls miss 1 week of school every month because they do not have any sanitary feminine products - the menstrual cups are able to be washed and reused)
Any donations are very much appreciated!
