This is Rosie Zepeda under my nephews account.
Address of our lost home: 20 meadow lane, Redwood City.
On 11/20/23 we had to make a very heartbreaking call to 911 to attempt to save our childhood home. A fire sparked in the middle of the night while we were sleeping & our beloved dog fat boy (who also survived) woke us up and we were able to get out safely but we lived a huge tragedy of standing there unable to do a single thing to save our home.
We have lost everything in this fire: our safe place, our memories, our belongings, some of our pets did not make it and it breaks my heart.
My parents (Jose Zepeda and Guadalupe Soberanes) immigrated to this country 30+ years ago and have worked extremely hard to provide for everyone in my family and make our house a safe place. I’m devastated to see what remains of our home but I know during this difficult time I’m seek a bit of help. It’s sad to say we live in a world where tragedies don’t stop life and bills will add up, we have vet bills for fatboy since he got some burns, we also needed to cremate our cat Oreo who didnt make it. We lost birds/bunny/turtles who we were unable to rescue to properly put down to rest. We had to rehome our 2 small dogs as well. As we are attempting to be proactive and grief all at once. Our gofundme is going to support some of the expenses that will be coming up since the rebuild will take sometime. We are working with our home insurance, but that also takes time and paper work.
All our family is asking is support however you can even if it’s just sharing this post.
