Augie did get to come home. We are continuing fluids and medicine at home after a week in the ER. Thank you everyone who has been donating and reaching out. It truly means a lot. The bill was over 10 thousand dollars which has been a struggle, but of course all worth it to save Augie. ❤️
The vets are telling us this is a rare case. His kidney levels should have stopped rising after 72 hours. However, this is not the case and he needs more consistent medical care with fluids and medicine. Please consider resharing and donating if you are in a position to do so. ❤️
The Story: Our sweet puppy Augie got in to some things that did not respond well to his kidneys. Augie requires constant fluids being pumped into him through an IV, a lot of medicine, blood work and 24 hour care to monitor his kidneys.
It has all been worth it to stabilize him and have him working towards being healthy again. The bill has increased to almost $11,000 due to his extensive care and extended stays that no one could predict from the beginning and our pet insurance not kicking in prior to this incident.
I am in graduate school and so close to being done and starting my career as an Animal Assisted Therapist. With the hopes of Augie becoming a therapy dog and coming to work with me. However, balancing work, school, debt, etc piles up quickly. If you have read this much any amount of money would help pay for his medical bills I would greatly appreciate anything. Thank you all!
