Help Billy get back on his feet!
Spende geschützt
It is never easy to share the most vulnerable moments of your life with a population beyond your control. It is also never easy to ask friends, family members, or even strangers for assistance when disaster strikes. However, in most cases, we are surprised by the generosity of others... and these acts of kindness can be lifesaving/crucial.
On 01/31/2022 life was forever altered for my cousins, Billy, and Breanna Dunkerly. Billy suffered a traumatic injury when he fell from a 2-story ladder while working. He was immediately rushed to University of Maryland's Shock Trauma unit where he underwent surgery to repair a broken femur (in 3 places). Life has never been easy for Billy and Breanna, for those of you who are aware of their circumstances. Amidst the pandemic, Breanna was forced to make changes to ensure the health/safety of her mother/child. Breanna's mother has multiple sclerosis and around March of 2020 it was determined that she required 24-hour care. At that time, Billy gladly took on full financial responsibility of his family which allowed Breanna to transition into being a stay-at-home mom and fulltime nurse. For years, Billy has worked late nights, most weekends, and has sacrificed any free time to help friends/family. When my family moved in July, Billy was there every weekend to assist with any/all miscellaneous tasks. Several years ago, when I was unable to purchase a car (which was a necessity at the time) ... Billy provided me with reliable transportation which greatly improved the quality of life for myself and my children. I say all this to say... sometimes we find the most generosity in those who are already stretched so thin.
Providers say Billy's rehabilitation could take up to 12-months, but so much is still unknown. Billy’s strength/determination are unmatched, and we are all praying for a speedy recovery. However, what this also means is their family of four will be without income for the foreseeable future.
Given the outrageous cost of food, gas, EVERYTHING… it was decided that making a Go Fund Me was imperative. I am asking for everyone’s assistance with making life a little bit easier for their family as they navigate through the next few months. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated:)
