Anyango's Journey to the States
Donation protected
In April of 2016, just under a year after losing her biological mother to Tuberculosis, Lavin Anyango Radiro came to stay with me at my home in Kenya. Her mother, Caren, was an extremely special woman in my life, and I wanted to be sure that Anyango would be taken care of after Caren's passing. I knew that was her dying wish.
For three beautiful years, I have been raising Anyango as my own. I have watched her grow and thrive and overcome obstacles that, to me, seemed to be impossible. Anyango is kind, compassionate, resilient, hardworking and extremely bright...a combination that will take her as far as she wishes to go in life.
A couple of months ago, Anyango was accepted into the Summer Scholars program with Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee. Through this program, she will be given the opportunity to experience college-level courses, explore a piece of America, and interact with peers from the other side of the world. This is an opportunity that Anyango has worked incredibly hard to earn, and we are so excited to see what doors this program will open for her future.
As a full-time missionary, I am unable to afford the expenses that this trip will cost, on my own. Any contribution would be a huge blessing to us, and would assist us in travel costs, and school expenses. If you are unable to contribute financially at this time, we would also be thankful if you helped to spread the word. Thank you so much!!
