As you may know, our dear friend Antuon had been battling illness for several months and has recently passed away. This fund will help his loved ones, including Keya Woodson, his partner of 18 years, with costs associated with end-of-life care and logistics. This news was abrupt, unexpected, and devastating to us all, including his closest friends and family. No one can ever prepare for things like this, but in times like these, we can at least find support and comfort in one another. Please consider offering your support in gratitude for however Antuon may have made your life a little brighter.
As we all struggle to cope with this monumental loss, we're also challenged with finding ways to navigate grief in a time of Covid. Below you'll find some answers to questions about how to support Antuon's loved ones, memorial plans, and a way we can remain physically distant while sharing this burden as a community.
Q: Will there be a funeral or memorial service?
A: So many folks have been unable to grieve loved ones in traditional ways this past year due to Covid. Although there will not be an in-person memorial service for Antuon in the conventional timeframe, we hope to be able to plan something soon. In the meantime, we have set up an online memory book. All are encouraged to send your photos, stories, and memories to [email redacted] dot com (this site does not allow email addresses in this text) so that they can be added for us all to share. ** Please send your thoughts or memories in the body of your email, and send photos as jpegs.**

Memory Book
You can check it daily for new stories and photos, which will be added as they come in.
Q: How can we keep Antuon's legacy alive?
A: We all know how generous Antuon was with his time and energy to us all, especially children in sports. Antuon never hesitated to seek out kids who needed a sense of belonging, a compassionate friend, or an extra push to strive for excellence. Although his contribution to our community is irreplaceable, we can still ensure that his legacy lives on. A non-profit organization is being formed in Antuon's name that will work towards giving all kids a chance to participate in camps and sports. We will share information in the coming weeks about how you can get involved in these efforts.
Thanks, and be well.
