Tony Luna's Life Celebration
Donation protected
Antonio "Tony" Luna was an American patriot who had a love and passion for country, community, and most important family. The many paths in his life always led him to serving and helping others.
On the evening of Friday, March 3, Tony was involved in a tragic motorcycle accident which ultimately took his life. Tony held many titles through his many ventures in life. He served 4 years in the United States Marine Corps. During his 18 years as a police officer in the city of Huntington Park, he achieved the rank of Sergeant. As a police officer he was a K-9 officer, joined SWAT, and was involved with the gang unit. The mission he took most pride in was his participation in the at-risk youth program, where he would touch the hearts and change the lives of countless youth.
Once he retired, he continued to work with at-risk youth when he developed the BUYA program. Here he held the title of Sergeant Major and he would teach the children enrolled in the program the value of loyalty, integrity, and respect. Once again, he touched the hearts and changed the lives of many youth.
Through this all, the most important title he held was "Dad". Tony was father to 5 children and grandfather to 5 grandchildren. Over his 56 years of life he was a father-figure to many.
Tony overcame many obstacles in his life, from the everyday life of being a police officer to surviving cancer to overcoming alcoholism. On his last day with us it is as if he found true peace and happiness. On the day of his passing he posted "God works, all you have to do is Pray and believe in Him. I'm so stoked…The 3rd of the month has a new meaning for me, a new beginning." Little did we know his new beginning was not meant to be in this world.
Any and all contributions will be applied to all funeral expenses and are greatly appreciated.
