The Mederios/DeLaO family is devastated by the loss of Antonio Medeiros.
Antonio, Tone was a beloved son, brother, nephew, and cousin as well as a friend to many.
Born September 9th, 1995 Antonio grew up in Fremont, Ca.
He graduated from Washington High School in 2012.
Antonio, his twin brother Joshua and mother Edna lost their father and husband Peter at a very young age., But three of them remained so close and strong leaning on by leaning on each other.
His life ended far too soon. Antonio was a kind-hearted, soft-spoken but also hilarious. He loved his family and friends deeply.
In his too-short life, he fought every day and remained strong through tremendous adversity. He is remembered by his family for his laughter and the way he could brighten your day with his smile.
Tonio knew the hand God dealt him at his birth, his life was surgeries and treatments and medications. Yet he remained positive throughout all of his health issues and setbacks. He never lost his positivity or spirit. He was upbeat and happy even though he lived with a lot of pain.
He was beloved by so many who appreciated his humor, his kindness, and his warmth. He was a beautiful person with a loving soul. Tone, as many of you know was a twin. He and he loved his brother Joshua with all his heart.
He was very close to his mother Edna, they spent time eating dinner watching movies, sending each other silly memes whenever they were not together, and always made each other laugh. He was his mother’s sidekick and always cheered her up and she did for him.
He loved his family so very much. If you were lucky enough to have Antonio as a friend then you experienced real friendship.

In Cousin Alana Sandoval’s words:
In my family, my boy cousins are more than primos to me, they’re the brothers I never had. Every weekend spent spending the night at each other’s houses, fighting over who gets to play on the computer first, making music videos to Baha Men and 50 Cent! I’ll never forget how much we would bicker, laugh and tease each other every year on Christmas Eve on who deserved to be “Santa” and pass out presents from underneath the tree.
It was routine, the 6 of us cousins: Nick, Arturo, Joshua, Antonio, my sister Victoria and I. We’d sit on the living room floor of my childhood home and find the most creative ways to pass the time until midnight would hit!
Tone, who seemed to be everyone’s favorite including mine, would be the first one to pop up and insist on going outside to play. Of course, we’d all follow and hit the front yard to play baseball on our front lawn that coincidentally was formed in the shape of a baseball diamond. Tone was up for anything!
Now thinking back, my cousin Antonio has the memory of an elephant. Always remembering inside jokes from years ago or bringing up random incidents of me falling when I thought no one was looking! Hahaha, he was the best.
I’ll never forget the way my Mom would hug Tone when she would see him. Literally, embedded in my memory. To lose two of the closest people I’ve known in my entire life, I can’t stomach the fact that I can’t see them or feel how much we missed each other through our tight hugs.
Whether it would be both of my cousins, along with my Tia Edna and Uncle Peter, in their red van rushing to pick us up for a fun-filled weekend or my sister and I complaining to our Mom that she was driving to our Tia Edna’s house too slow — Tone was always the first to greet us no matter what or where we were!
If I could talk to my cousin one more time, I’d thank him for being the early bird in the family. Since we were younger, Tone would be the first one to wake up at the crack of dawn while everyone else slept just so he could watch Jurassic Park for the 100th time! I’d wake up with him just to make us cereal (because I was the oldest) and we’d cuddle up in our blankets and watch it from beginning to end without waking everyone else up.
Rest in love Antonio Medeiros My cousin, my brother, my confidant. The sweetest, most genuine soul I’ve ever met. I love you.
