Hello. My name is Antonio Angel Anguiano. On January 8th, I was rushed into emergency surgery after a severe infection began in my gallbladder and spread aggressively to surrounding organs. Doctors explained it was dangerously close to reaching my spine, a point that could have left me permanently unable to walk. Surgeons also had to operate on my stomach and my appendix to stop the infection from advancing further.
This was not planned. It was a sudden fight to protect my mobility and my life, and I am grateful that the doctors were able to act in time. I am 21 years old, a finance student at North Park University, and a first-generation Mexican American. My parents came from Mexico to give me opportunities they never had, carrying our family forward through sacrifice, work, and resilience.
We have always handled our challenges quietly, but this emergency arrived faster than we could prepare for, and the medical costs are now overwhelming for me and my family. This fundraiser exists to support recovery, protect my ability to stay in school, and ease the financial impact of a crisis we never saw coming. Any contribution will help lift the weight of these unexpected medical expenses and scary times even if that’s just sharing or donating.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for believing in recovery, family, and the future ahead. My name is Antonio Angel Anguiano, and I am grateful you are here.
