Antonia's Youth Leadership Camp (YLC)

Donation protected
Hello Family and Friends,

My name is Antonia Phillips and I am a junior turning into a senior. Every summer, the National Association of the Deaf (NAD) hosts a national youth leadership camp in the woods of Stayton, Oregon. I was selected as one of sixty-five youth leaders all over the United States to attend a month-long Youth Leadership Camp (YLC) this summer, June-July 2022. This is a very exciting and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me!

“The NAD Youth Leadership Camp (YLC) is an intensive educational four-week summer program for deaf and hard of hearing high school students. The camp provides leaders the ability to develop their scholarship, leadership, and citizenship (SLC) qualities in a nature environment. Leaders experience self-discovery, learn about self-identity, confidence, and self-esteem and understand many things about themselves.”

I believe in paying forward and helping the others better within my community, my deaf and hard of hearing community by developing and strengthening my leadership skills, including better network and the YLC will provide and focus on self-awareness, interacting with leaders in the deaf and hard of hearing community. Throughout the month, I will develop a lifelong network with friends who will support each other for the rest of our lives. An integral part of NAD YLC is educating campers about deaf heritage and culture, along with essential skills to success, such as public speaking.

The Youth Leadership Camp will benefit me tremendously, both in the field of education and my future! Since I am responsible for paying for the tuition fee and airfare, which total $3,500 by April 1st, 2022. Please consider helping me reach my goal to attend this unique and exciting camp by donation today! Anything you can donate helps a lot.

A matching fund has been established so that each dollar that you donate will be matched by an anonymous donor, up to a total of $500. Take advantage of this opportunity to double the value of your donation!

Thank you for your support!
