Antonia's Heart and Twins Need Help
Donation protected
This is my friend Antonia, she’s an ER nurse who just recently delivered twin boys on Thanksgiving day, Caleb Jr and Charlie IV. Despite weekly prenatal appointments, she and her boys have unfortunately all experienced post-partum complications. Initially, Antonia was diagnosed with a uterine infection requiring sepsis treatment. However, the treatment for sepsis has subsequently brought to light not only an incredibly rare OB complication called Peripartum Cardiomyopathy (PPCM) that has put her into severe heart failure, but also bilateral pleural effusions with an unknown recovery time or outcome. PPCM affects approximately 1 pregnant person for every 4000 pregnancies in the US and only 2000 pregnancies worldwide, is still being researched, and the causes are currently unknown. She was life flighted out to one of San Francisco's top ICUs for a higher level of care while both her twin boys were admitted to her local NICU for antibiotic and antiviral treatment for signs of possible meningitis related to the uterine infection. Not only are they all going through life-altering complications, they aren't even able to be together at this time. We are trying to support her in her time of need and asking for donations for these completely unexpected complications with unknown financial complications to herself and her family in the foreseeable future. Please consider donating and sharing so others may have the opportunity to help this amazing woman in need during the holidays and possibly into the new year. Thank you.
