The class of FPHS 1984 and the City Wide classes of 1984 are requesting your financial assistance for our dear friend and classmate Toni Anguiano. Some of you may or may not know Toni has been facing some serious health challenges. Toni has been a brittle diabetic since childhood. Diabetes can affect the body in many different ways, it can wreak havoc on blood vessels all over the body, it can severely damage the eyes, kidneys, nerves and cause heart attack and stroke. Not having enough blood flow to your legs and feet is a major complication which can make a sore or injury hard to heal. In September 2018, Toni broke her toe on her left foot, and it did not heal properly, resulting in amputation of two toes and on December 3, 2018 her leg below the knee had to be amputated. Toni spent a couple of weeks in rehab after surgery to learn how to adapt to this life changing procedure. During her recovery she had setback and was hospitalized in December 2018 for an infection and spent Christmas and New Year’s in the hospital. Upon coming home in January 2019, her son, Ness, moved from Baton Rouge, LA to help her in her recovery. She was on the road to recovery, but still had a long road ahead of her. She had PT and OT in her home and received her prosthetic leg in January 2019. In February 2019, she had another setback when a blister developed on her right big toe. In October of 2019 all her right toes had to be amputated.   In February of 2020, they amputated half of her right foot.   On May 26, 2020 her right leg had to be amputated. In July 2020, Toni received both prothesis and began PT again. On October 29, 2020 Toni had another set back and began Dialysis.  
 
This ordeal has been rough physically, mentally, emotionally and financially as you can imagine but our friend has sustained through the support of family, friends, prayers, and her faith in God. We are asking for any amount your heart desires to contribute as Toni is so deserving of our support because she has helped so many people along the way. We all know that insurance does not cover the entire cost of medical care (there are co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles, medication, equipment and supplies as well as household expenses).
