Anton Zilberberg Family Fund

We lost a special soul this past weekend.

Anton Zilberberg, husband, father, founder and man on a mission, passed away of natural causes on September 6th while camping with his wife, Ela, and children, Ariel (4) and Lianne (1). Anyone who knew Anton personally saw what the combination of limitless talent and a huge heart looked like. Anton shared his wisdom and experience openly with everyone he met. Anton also had a sharp wit and sense of humor that left you on the edge of your seat when he spoke. He was unafraid and ambitious.

Over the past 5 years, Anton and Ela operated a successful short-term rental management company in Toronto, Canada. In Anton’s words: “In 2015, we started to share our own home with travelers like ourselves. To manage this new hobby while working full-time jobs, we built an automation software, streamlining the check-in/checkout process. Appreciated by our guests, we decided to follow our passion for travel. Hoping everyone can feel at home while traveling, we founded QuickStay.”

To our colleagues in short-term rentals, doesn’t this story of falling into a short-term rental career sound familiar? It was Anton and Ela’s love of adventure and travel that led to a career in entrepreneurship and hospitality. But Anton was not average. He was among the most innovative and capable entrepreneurs the short-term rental industry has ever seen. The tech that Anton created to improve his own property management operation soon developed into a service for others.

Autohost.ai is Anton’s vision for the perfect trust & safety tool that would help owners and managers avoid bad guest experiences. Best to let Anton describe his vision: “We recognized the need for automation in the short-term rental space, so we embarked on a journey of making it easier, safer and faster to run a property management company. We provide world-class guest screening powered by AI and machine learning. It's the most sophisticated security system for hospitality.” Autohost will carry on the pursuit of Anton’s mission to improve the short-term rental ecosystem.

On a personal level, Anton was a family man and a great friend. He was in awe of his wife. Anton and Ela traveled the world kite surfing and dated since they were childhood sweethearts. More than anything else, Anton was in love with his two adorable kids, frequently commenting on how quickly they learned new things. Anton shared the joys of parenting with his many friends. Everyone who knew Anton knew his family was his world.

It is impossible to convey the sadness that Anton’s family and friends are feeling right now. But luckily there is something we can do to show our support. We, Anton’s friends and colleagues, have created this memorial page and Family Fund to directly support Ela, Ariel and Lianne. We invite you to share any memories of Anton that you’d like to share and, if you can, give to the Fund.

With love,
Dave Krauss, Eric Moeller & Jasper Ribbers (and many, many other friends and colleagues)
