Anton York-Collins Funeral & Memorial Fund

It is with great sorrow that we formerly announce the passing of our wonderful son, Anton York-Collins.

Anton was truly loved and was a wonderful son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, uncle and friend, despite his struggles with mental health.

On Saturday 25th May 2024, we opened the door to news no parent should ever receive. Anton’s mental health had won the war and he had tragically taken matters into is own hands and put a stop to his suffering and pain.

This came as a total shock to the family, because for over 20 years Anton had dedicated himself to his treatment and worked tirelessly with GP’s and care plans from the NHS mental health teams in conjunction with the assisted living team.

Anton was more than his illness, he had a passion for music production, a talent for the academics and advocated for his fellow mental health sufferers.

Anton’s road was not plain sailing and though vast improvements were made, recently the “best & only option” available being medically administered could not and did not stabilise him.

Could we have done more? What lessons can be learnt from this tragic waste of a young man’s life? our young man’s life.

This go-fund-me has been set up to lay Anton to rest as we were not prepared financially, as most parents would not be, for this bereavement and pledge that any funds left over will be donated to the local mental health service on his behalf.
