Hi, I’m Antoinette. Nine years ago, I survived a Traumatic Brain Injury after a freak accident at home, that radically changed my life. Since then, I’ve been living with lifelong symptoms that prevent me from holding regular employment. I live on a very fixed income, and my journey has been filled with numerous challenges and obstacles.
For the past 19 months, I’ve been homeless due to a divorce over two years ago, which has left me destitute. Despite ongoing legal battles over my court-ordered marital inheritance—of which I’ve been unjustly denied—I refuse to let these setbacks stop me from fulfilling the purpose God has placed in my heart.
For the last 19 months, God has called me—and my loyal dog Buddy—to travel, to meet people from all walks of life, and to share His word through my testimony and photography. I cherish the peace and solitude of solo traveling, which not only helps me heal but also allows me to continue my mission of spreading hope, educating about brain injuries and turning my Pain Into Purpose.
On "good brain days," I love to venture into public spaces and offer mini photo sessions to strangers—people making memories and sharing stories. This opens a beautiful door for me to share my testimony, listen to others’ stories, and create a space of connection and healing. I gift the photos as a reminder of our encounter—a gift of hope, and images to cherish. It’s a way for me to give back, to inspire, and to remind others the Kingdom of God lives within them. (Luke 17:21)
Living with daily symptoms like sensory overload and physical limitations, I’ve found that living in a van/bus on the road, surrounded by nature, significantly improves my quality of life. The healing benefits of being in and around nature are profound for my well-being, and it allows me to manage my symptoms more effectively. Traveling gives me purpose, peace, and the ability to serve others in ways I couldn’t otherwise. It also gives me independence and less dependency on others.
My mission now is to purchase a used shuttle bus, convert it into a camper van, and keep traveling independently. This vehicle will be my mobile ministry—allowing me to live out my purpose, support others with brain injuries, and continue sharing God's miracles of healing and hope. I have several skilled carpenters on stand by, willing to help with the build-out, and I have the funds to maintain insurance and cover basic expenses once it is complete. This will give me a safe shelter on a regular basis.
With your support, I can turn this dream into a reality—giving me the freedom to serve . I plan to do speaking engagements, visit patients in hospitals, and support those going through rehabilitation. This lifestyle will allow a beacon of light for others, showing that even through life's hardships, God's grace and miracles are real. There is Purpose In Your Pain!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness and support. Every gift, no matter the size, brings me closer to living my purpose. I would like to personally thank all of those in my inner circle, my church family, and a special support group; Hope After Head Injury, for your constant love, support and encouragement. I wouldn't be here without you all in my life! If you would like to learn more or see my photography feel free to visit www.healingtimes.art
