Antioch Facade
We are pleased to have established Antioch Outreach Ministries (the "Outreach Ministries"), a 501(c) 3 organization located in Harlem, New York. The focus of the Outreach Ministries is to provide food and clothing to the residents of Harlem, weekly. The Outreach Ministries is one of very few food pantries open in Harlem on Saturdays.
Since early 2009, the number of residents served by the Outreach Ministries has increased tremendously. In 2010, we served an average of 260 residents each Saturday. In March 2020, before the pandemic, we served over 500 residents weekly. We anticipate, with the current state of unemployment, that the need will continue to grow.
The food pantry is housed in the basement of Antioch Church of God in Christ (“Antioch”), in a building that is almost 60 years old. We are temporarily closed due to the pandemic; however, we are preparing for when we can resume our work safely. While the neighborhood has experienced another era of gentrification, Antioch’s building stands out because it is in desperate need of repairs. We need your help!
We want to welcome the community back in a building that is safe (most importantly), comfortable and appealing. The first step is to address the renovation of the facade (pictured above). We pray that you can help us reach our goal of $75,000 by giving a tax-deductible donation to pay for the cost of the much-needed repairs.
Antioch has been a place of refuge for the Harlem community since its doors opened 59 years ago. Our mission is to feed those who are hungry, physically and spiritually. Your contribution can help us continue to address the community's, very real, everyday struggles. We appreciate and thank you for any gift towards this worthwhile cause. God bless you!
